Molecular Haematology Operations Manager, Health Services Laboratories

Robert Baker is the Molecular Haematology Operations Manager at Health Services Laboratories (HSL) in London. He began his career in 1992 as a trainee biomedical scientist in haematology at the Royal Free Hospital, becoming state registered in 1996. In 2001, he advanced to senior biomedical scientist, specializing in immunophenotyping and molecular haematology, with additional focus on lysosomal storage disorders. He transitioned to a full-time molecular role in 2008. Since 2018, Rob has led molecular haematology operations at HSL, supporting one of the world’s largest malignant haematology services at University College London Hospitals (UCLH).
